Brackish Water Desalination
Brackish Water Desalination is the membrane process of removing dissolved minerals from a water stream to meet the final product water requirements. ENAQUA provides a wide range of RO systems designed to meet the challenges of both industrial and municipal markets. ENAQUA’s engineers have combined over 100 years of experience in the reverse osmosis market.
ENAQUA has been involved in RO membrane projects for over 20 years. Our systems are designed and fabricated for long term reliable operation. We size our systems based on conservative design guidelines and robust pretreatment schemesin order to ensure the most cost effective solution to our clients. Applications are numerous from systems as small as 1 GPM to over 2 MGD.
Irrigation Water Supply, Hawaii
A new resort development needed water for irrigating their golf course and common grounds. The only water available was a highly brackish well water very near the coast. Complicating the situation, power was very expensive, and reducing power consumption was key to making the project finally viable. ENAQUA provided a 1.5 MGD RO system with energy recovery pressure exchangers to reduce the salinity in the water while minimizing power consumption. Our scope included the RO equipment, instrumentation and SCADA controls, and all mechanical and electrical installation.
Drinking Water Supply, National Park Service, Death Valley , CA
Power Plant Water Recovery, California
Due to drought conditions leading to water curtailments, along with the high price for water, ENAQUA provided a 60 GPM 2-pass RO system to recover the RO reject water at a power generating facility. This high recovery system decreased by the amount of water that was previously going to drain, with approximately 20 million gallons of water saved per year.
