What is AFP™?
ENAQUA’s unique Activated Fluoropolymer™ resins and manufacturing process are the heart of all ENAQUA Non-Contact Disinfection Systems. Since 1992, ENAQUA’s AFP™ resin-based systems have been reliable 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. The 800 Series of resins, specifically AFP™840 allow for maximum UV transmission and retention within the liquid stream to be disinfected. The 800 series was developed by the same people who introduced the world to Teflon®-based UV systems in the late 70’s and early 80’s.
Having identified and overcome the issues surrounding the inefficiencies of earlier systems, ENAQUA started offering AFP™ Non-Contact Disinfection and has continuously worked on increasing the efficiencies of the systems, resins and electronics which collectively make ENAQUA’s systems unparalleled. Unlike quartz, AFP™840 does not change its UV transmitting properties or become brittle, solarize, or break, and also has the added distinction of having the lowest fouling potential of any system available.
